What do you say when you're on camera, miked, and conscious while falling 1,600 feet in a botched skiing stunt?

It takes a long time to complete the fall, and yet no intelligible insights are shared.

'From there, my slough took over and their was no way to stop, I pulled my airbag to help prevent against any possible trauma injuries as I tumbled to the bottom,' he said. While attempting to regain his footing, Mac lost a ski and cartwheeled over 1,600 feet in under a minute."

Oh, he had an airbag. That changes the whole experience of the video, doesn't it? I was waiting for him to say something like "God help me" or "I love you Mom" or "Still alive! Still alive!" but perhaps it was rather mundane from the inside.

This gets my things are not what they seem tag.

In NYC, a worker was pinned for 3 hours inside a building that collapsed in the process of demolition.

"I've never seen anything like that before, and I've lived in Southern California since I was 11."

Mudslides.

This 5'10" man was held at sword point by a 5'7" woman who had trained in medieval combat with the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Karen Dolley, 43, woke up at midnight to the sound of a man's voice, "leapt out of bed, turned on the lights and saw him standing in her living room."

[S]he immediately attacked, punching him about 10 times and cornering him in her bedroom. She reached for her gun in a nearby drawer, but she accidentally opened the wrong drawer.... She reached for her backup weapon, a Japanese-styled sword called ninjato, which she keeps near her bed...

The police arrived 2 minutes after she called, and the guy, Jacob Wessel, apologized as they were taking him away.

Dolley is only upset that the intruder ruined her sleep and angered her cat.

“At the end of the day, I’m glad to know that even if I wake up in the middle of the night, I’m not going down without a fight,” Dolley said.

"A 7-year-old Australian boy miraculously survived an attack by an aggressive kangaroo using a defense method... 'the kangaroo roll.'"

"'You put your hands around your neck and you roll up in a ball'.... The boy proceeded to put his face down and scream for help."

Miraculously? How dangerous are kangaroos? Here's a Slate article from 2012 (after 3 kangaroos escaped from a zoo in Germany):

Although the last recorded death came in 1936, there have been several kangaroo attacks in Australia in recent years, some resulting in serious injuries.... The best defense is to keep a safe distance and try to create a barrier between yourself and the beast. Even holding up a large tree branch can be helpful. If the kangaroo approaches, turn your body sideways, exposing a narrow profile to the animal and protecting your face and organs. Raise your hands and lean your head away from the animal to minimize the chances of being scratched across the face by the kangaroo’s nasty claws. Retreat, but do not turn your back and run. A kangaroo can easily chase you down, kicking as it hops.

They stumbled upon a sleeping kangaroo, who woke up and tried to get away, chased by the dog Rocky. The kangaroo them jumped in to the water and the dog followed. In a self defence move typical for kangaroos the kangaroo grabbed the dog with its front paws and held it under water to drown it....

July 2004...  Christine Canham was walking her four golden retrievers around Dunlop Ponds in Canberra's northern suburbs when her dog, Summer, had a run-in with a kangaroo who then held him under water and drowned him. Drought conditions have made the kangaroos change their usual behaviour and become active in daytime and fiercely defend water sources and feed patches....

No one is hurt, so enjoy the footbridge footage.
